Norway experiences warmer temperatures with summer temperatures of around 15 to 20 degrees Celsius, and winter temperatures mostly above zero degree Celsius (+32º F). The mainland experiences colder winters with snow, excellent for winter activities.

Norway has an extensive and unique coast line with islands, skerries, fjords, narrow passages and mountain peaks, stretching over 2,500 km from Skagerak and the south of Norway along the North Sea to the Arctic Circle and northwards to the North Cape. The coast stretches over 2,500 km, and over 83,000 km including the fjords and islands.

Norway is also a country of mountains covered with scenic mountain roads and railways such as the famous Flam Railway, the Bergensbanen train line and the Dovrefjell mountain plateau, etc.

Oslo is the capital of Norway which is rich in its heritage and culture. It has many churches, palaces, historic sites, shopping and entertainment destinations. Akershus Fortress is a place where you can discover the history of Oslo. Holmenkollen Ski Museum and Tower is a historic place where you can enjoy skiing and also can take a tour of the museum, which exhibits 4000 years of skiing history and polar exploration artifacts. It is the worlds oldest ski museum.

This city is a good starting point for the Norway in a Nutshell fjord tours especially if you want to try and make it a day tour. There are also coastal ships that depart from here and steam north along Norways scenic coast.

Geirangerfjord is famous for its popular scenic attraction and waterway. Here you will get to see three waterfalls; The Seven Sisters, The Suitor and Bridal Veil. In Geirangerfjord you can also enjoy fishing, hiking, boat riding and kayaking. Stavanger is the city where you will get to see the mix of old and new. It has many museums which tell the history of this place. It is also home to many antique shops and artists studios. Norway tourist destinations such as these portray the historical aspect of Norway.
Norwegian cuisine uses ingredients which can be found all over the country. Some of the popular cuisines of Norway are; Flatbread (made from oatmeal flour, graham flour and buttermilk then baked till crisp), Grilled Mountain Trout with Lemon Butter, Chicken Fricassee, Rutabagas, Hasselback (roasted potatoes) and many more.
Renting a car is quite convenient in Norway. Youll find many companies offering car rentals, including Europcar, AutoEurope, Argus, Thrifty, and Avis. Car rentals are available in all towns and in some of the more built up rural areas as well. You can book your rental car online, in person, or with the help of a travel agent. If you plan to tour Norway during summer, however, you are advised to book well in advance due to high demand.
Though most types of rental cars may be driven anywhere in Western Europe without restrictions, some luxury cars may not be included. Cars rented in Norway are not allowed into most Eastern European countries, so when you rent, be sure your particular itinerary will be possible with the car you rent.
